About Us

Cooler & Crumb is an independent, multi-brand specialty retailer of insulated bags and lunch packs. We stock a curated selection from Fit & Fresh, Mier, BUILT, and PackIt — over 400 products across lunch bags, backpack coolers, soft coolers, ice packs, and meal-prep carriers — so you can compare designs, capacities, and insulation features side by side in one place.

We are not owned by, affiliated with, or an official site of any of the brands we carry. We are a third-party specialist store: our entire job is choosing the best insulated carry gear from multiple makers, explaining it honestly, and standing behind every order.

Who Operates Cooler & Crumb

The storefront is owned and operated by Marlowe Avenue Retail Group LLC, a limited liability company registered in Oregon. Marlowe Avenue Retail Group LLC operates independently owned specialty e-commerce storefronts and is responsible for everything you experience here: merchandising and catalog curation, order processing, payments, fulfillment, returns, customer service, and the store's pricing, promotion, and policy terms.

That independence is deliberate. Because no brand owns us, our recommendations and comparisons are driven by what fits your use case — not by an obligation to push one manufacturer's lineup.

How the Store Started

Cooler & Crumb launched in 2019, founded by a small team of former outdoor-gear and housewares buyers who had spent years managing insulated-goods categories for larger retailers. We run lean out of our Portland operations base at Cooler & Crumb, 1428 Marlowe Avenue, Suite 305, Portland, OR 97214, United States — handling buying, listing, and service in-house rather than outsourcing to call centers or drop-ship networks. The people who write the listings are the people who answer your emails.

Our Category Expertise

We focus exclusively on soft-sided cooling, insulation performance, and lunch-carrying gear. That narrow focus lets our team evaluate products on the details that actually matter in daily use:

  • Outer fabric construction — denier ratings and how they hold up to commuting, school desks, and car trunk wear.
  • Liner quality — food-safety certifications and leak-resistant performance.
  • Zipper and seam construction — where soft coolers most often fail first.
  • Ice retention — we look at test data and real-world reports, not just marketing claims.
  • Closure and carry systems — zips vs. open tops, over-arm straps, backpack straps, and pockets.

This is how we can tell you the practical difference between a commute-size bento-style lunch tote, a larger family cooler bag, and a freezable design like a PackIt — and help you pick the right one instead of the loudest one.

How We Choose What to Stock

Rather than stocking everything a brand makes, we select a deliberately edited range. Each carry is chosen to cover a distinct use case: commute-size lunch bags, larger family coolers, freezable everyday designs, and compartmentalized meal-prep carriers. Our goal is that you can compare like-for-like across Fit & Fresh, Mier, BUILT, and PackIt without wading through near-duplicates.

Every listing is written from the manufacturer's spec sheet and then verified against the physical sample in hand — dimensions, liner material, capacity, and care instructions are checked item by item before a listing goes live, and listings are re-audited each season.

Why Our Prices Are What They Are

We believe shoppers deserve to understand the pricing behind an independent store. Ours comes down to a few concrete choices:

Our Operating Model

  • We buy in seasonal wholesale quantities directly from brand-authorized distributors, consolidating four complementary brands through a small number of sourcing relationships to reduce per-unit acquisition cost.
  • Inventory is held in a single modest warehouse rather than a retail network — no storefront rent, regional split-shipping, or multi-site overhead baked into prices.
  • Catalog breadth is intentionally narrow, which keeps carrying costs, markdown risk, and listing maintenance low and lets the savings pass to shoppers.

Sourcing Economics

  • Concentrating orders with authorized distributors each season earns us volume tiers that smaller single-brand shops cannot reach.
  • End-of-season buys and approved closeouts are purchased at a discount and offered at reduced prices while stock lasts, clearly reflected in limited-availability listings.
  • Freight is consolidated into full seasonal shipments rather than frequent small deliveries, lowering inbound logistics cost per unit.

Operating Efficiency

  • Orders are picked and packed by a small trained in-house team, keeping fulfillment error rates and re-ship costs low.
  • Customer service is handled by the same staff who know the products, reducing resolution time and overhead.
  • Marketing relies on targeted promotions rather than expensive broad advertising, keeping acquisition costs down.

How Promotions Are Funded

Promotions come out of our own margin. Coupon discounts and seasonal offers are planned into our pricing calendar — a promoted price is a deliberate margin reduction by the retailer, never a change to the product, its sourcing channel, or its authenticity. Right now, you can apply code CRUMB15 at checkout for 15% off eligible items; coupon eligibility follows standard checkout rules.

Why Prices Vary Within a Brand

Prices vary by size, insulation technology, and materials within each brand's line — and temporarily by promotion timing: closeout and end-of-season items may be discounted further while new-season arrivals launch at full base price. Two similar-looking bags can differ in liner certification, fabric denier, or ice-retention performance, which is often the real driver of a price gap.

The short version: a lower price here reflects sourcing and overhead efficiency, not a compromise in product identity. Every item — full price or discounted — comes through the same authorized channels and passes the same inbound inspection before it ships.

Authenticity and Quality: Our Commitment

Every bag sold is a genuine, brand-new product from the named manufacturer, sourced through authorized channels. If any item is ever shown not to be authentic, you receive a full refund of the item and shipping — and you keep the item at no cost.

Our Sourcing Standards

Every unit is purchased through brand-authorized wholesale distributors with documented purchase records per season. We accept no gray-market, liquidation-lot, or unverified marketplace inventory, and supplier invoices are retained for each lot received.

Quality Controls

  • Inbound inspection: a sample from each received carton is checked for zipper function, seam integrity, liner odor, and label authenticity before stock is released to the pickable shelf.
  • Pre-ship check: every order is visually inspected for cosmetic damage and confirmed against the ordered variant before packing.
  • Quarterly stock rotation audits remove any aged or compromised packaging from sellable inventory.

What to Check When Your Order Arrives

We recommend checking the product tags, stitching, and zippers against the listing photos, and inspecting the liner for any transit damage. Keep the original packaging for the first 30 days in case a return is needed — our return window covers 30 days from delivery.

If You Have an Authenticity or Quality Concern

Contact our quality team with your order number and photos. To process a claim, please include:

  • Your order number and the email used at purchase.
  • At least two clear photos: one of the product tags or branding, one of the area of concern.
  • A short description of what differs from the listing or your expectation.
  • Claims submitted within 30 days of delivery for return-based remedies.

Our review process works like this:

  1. The quality team acknowledges your claim within one business day and assigns a case reference.
  2. Records from the season's authorized purchase lot are compared against your photos.
  3. If the claim is confirmed, the remedy — a full refund with shipping, or a replacement where stock allows — is issued within five business days of confirmation.
  4. The supplier relationship is re-audited and the lot is quarantined pending review.

No authenticity or quality claim is closed without a written explanation to you. If you are unsatisfied with the first outcome, the case is escalated to our operating company's service lead for a final review within three additional business days.

Service Before and After Your Order

Our service promise is simple: clear product details, straightforward shipping and returns, and responsive support before and after your order. Shipping is free on orders over $45.00, with standard shipping at $8.00. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, and warranty coverage follows the product information and support guidance provided with each item.

Questions before you buy — which cooler holds ice longest, which lunch bag fits your containers, which ice pack fits a slim tote? Email us at support@coolerandcrumb.shop and a person who knows these products will answer.
